Where Jujutsu Kaisen heights come from

Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024 and was collected in 30 volumes, according to Wikipedia's summary of the series. MAPPA's anime adaptation began in October 2020. Heights in the franchise come from two kinds of official material, and the difference between them matters.

Volume profiles. Many collected volumes end with short character profiles written by Akutami. The Jujutsu Kaisen Wiki cites Volume 1 for Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki and Satoru Gojo, Volume 3 for Kento Nanami, and Volume 5 for the Kyoto students and the Zenin twins.

The Official Fanbook. Jujutsu Kaisen Official Fanbook is the series' first databook. The wiki lists it as a 232-page book released in Japan on March 4, 2021, with VIZ's English edition, titled Jujutsu Kaisen: The Official Character Guide, following on April 23, 2024. It covers the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel and chapters 1 to 133 of the main series, with profiles of the major characters. The wiki cites a two-page section of the book (pages 112–113) for many heights, including Panda, Suguru Geto, Yuta Okkotsu and Toge Inumaki, who had no figure in the volumes.

Akutami's profiles are not always precise. Several heights are given as "over" or "almost" a round number, and those qualifiers are part of canon.

Jujutsu Kaisen heights compared

Here is every Jujutsu Kaisen character in the site's database, tallest first. The "Official wording" column shows what the source actually says, because the site has to store a single number for each character.

Character Site height Official wording Where it's stated
Satoru Gojo 190 cm (6′3″) Over 190 cm ("probably") Volume 1 profile
Aoi Todo 190 cm (6′3″) Over 190 cm Volume 5 profile
Panda 190 cm (6′3″) Over 190 cm Fanbook pp. 112–113
Kento Nanami 184 cm (6′0″) 184 cm Volume 3 profile
Suguru Geto 180 cm (5′11″) Over 180 cm Fanbook pp. 112–113
Yuta Okkotsu 180 cm (5′11″) Almost 180 cm Fanbook pp. 112–113
Megumi Fushiguro 175 cm (5′9″) 175 cm Volume 1 profile
Yuji Itadori 173 cm (5′8″) 173 cm Volume 1 profile
Maki Zenin 170 cm (5′7″) 170 cm Volume 5 profile; Fanbook
Mai Zenin 170 cm (5′7″) 170 cm Volume 5 profile; Fanbook
Toge Inumaki 170 cm (5′7″) Almost 170 cm Fanbook pp. 112–113
Nobara Kugisaki 160 cm (5′3″) 160 cm Volume 1 profile
Momo Nishimiya 150 cm (4′11″) 150 cm Volume 5 profile; Fanbook

Read the table this way: Geto and Yuta share the 180 cm value on the site, but canon places Geto a bit above that line and Yuta a bit below it. Likewise, Inumaki is "almost" 170 cm, so he is very slightly shorter than the Zenin twins, who are listed at exactly 170 cm. And the three-way tie at the top hides an open question, since "over 190" has no upper limit.

The over-190 cm club: Gojo, Todo and Panda

Satoru Gojo is the face of the series' height chart, and his official figure is famously vague. The Volume 1 profile, as summarized by the Jujutsu Kaisen Wiki, says he is probably over 190 cm, roughly 6′3″ or more. The wiki also cites a chapter 43 scene for the figure. Nowhere does Akutami pin down an exact number, so 190 cm is best understood as a minimum.

Aoi Todo, the Kyoto student whom the Fanbook lists at 18, carries the same "over 190 cm" label in Volume 5. The wiki's appearance section adds two useful details: Todo is the tallest student at Kyoto Jujutsu High, and he is about the same height as Gojo. Unlike the lean Gojo, he has a very heavy, muscular build, so he reads as much larger on the page even at a similar height.

Panda, the cursed corpse who studies at the Tokyo school, is the third member of the group. His over-190 cm figure comes from the Fanbook, and the wiki notes that his bear-shaped frame makes him stand much taller than his classmates. In a lineup with Yuji, Megumi and Nobara, these three tower over everyone else.

Adults and second-years: Nanami, Geto and Yuta

Kento Nanami has one of the few precise adult heights in the series: 184 cm, from the Volume 3 profile. That makes him the tallest character in the site's list with an exact number, and 6 cm shorter than Gojo's minimum. The profile gives his age as 27; the Fanbook, written later, gives 28 and a July 3, 1990 birthday.

Suguru Geto, Gojo's former classmate, is "over 180 cm" in the Fanbook, placing him at least 10 cm below Gojo. Yuta Okkotsu, the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, is "almost 180 cm" in the same book. Both get the site's 180 cm value, but by the official wording Geto edges Yuta out.

Among the Tokyo second-years, Maki Zenin is 170 cm, and the wiki describes her as a young woman of above-average height with an athletic build. Inumaki is "almost 170 cm," so he and Maki are virtually level. The Kyoto twin Mai shares Maki's exact height, a detail the wiki's trivia section repeats from Volume 5.

The first-years: Yuji, Megumi and Nobara

The main trio has precise heights from the first collected volume:

  • Yuji Itadori: 173 cm (5′8″) and about 80 kg (176 lb). The wiki describes him as of average height, looking slender in baggy clothes but actually lean and very muscular. His profile adds that his body fat is in the single digits and, notably, that Akutami says he will continue growing.
  • Megumi Fushiguro: 175 cm (5′9″), described as relatively tall and slim. The wiki gives his weight as 60 kg, citing chapter 172 rather than a profile.
  • Nobara Kugisaki: 160 cm (5′3″).
First-year comparison Heights Difference
Megumi vs Yuji 175 cm vs 173 cm 2 cm
Yuji vs Nobara 173 cm vs 160 cm 13 cm
Megumi vs Nobara 175 cm vs 160 cm 15 cm
Gojo (minimum) vs Yuji 190 cm vs 173 cm 17 cm

The weights tell an interesting story. Megumi is 2 cm taller than Yuji but about 20 kg lighter by the figures the wiki cites. Yuji's weight fits the wiki's description of a lean, very muscular build hidden under loose clothing.

Momo Nishimiya, a Kyoto student listed at 18 in the Fanbook, is the shortest character in the list at 150 cm. The wiki describes her as a short girl with a very youthful appearance, and she stands at least 40 cm below her classmate Todo.

Heights alongside ages and birthdays

A height only means something once you know how old the character is. The Fanbook gives birthdays and ages for most of the cast, which makes it possible to separate the still-growing students from the fully grown adults.

Character Birthday (Fanbook) Age (Fanbook) Height
Satoru Gojo December 7, 1989 28 over 190 cm
Suguru Geto February 3, 1990 27 over 180 cm
Kento Nanami July 3, 1990 28 184 cm
Momo Nishimiya July 7, 2000 18 150 cm
Aoi Todo September 23, 2000 18 over 190 cm
Yuta Okkotsu March 7, 2001 17 almost 180 cm
Toge Inumaki October 23, 2001 17 almost 170 cm
Maki and Mai Zenin January 20, 2002 16 170 cm
Nobara Kugisaki August 7, 2002 16 160 cm
Megumi Fushiguro December 22, 2002 — 175 cm
Yuji Itadori March 20, 2003 15 173 cm

Three patterns stand out. First, the three adults born in 1989 and 1990 (Gojo, Geto and Nanami) are all at least 180 cm, so the faculty and their former classmates form the tall end of the cast. Second, Todo reaches the same over-190 cm mark as Gojo while still a teenager, ten years younger than him. Third, Yuji is the youngest person in the table, which fits Akutami's comment that he has not finished growing. The wiki cites chapter 222 for Megumi's age of 16, but the Fanbook entry it cites for his birthday doesn't give an age.

The ages also explain why the Kyoto and Tokyo students look so different in group scenes. Todo and Momo, both 18, are the two extremes of the student body: one the tallest person at Kyoto Jujutsu High and the other the shortest character in the site's list, separated by at least 40 cm.

How Jujutsu Kaisen heights compare with real people

Most of the cast are Japanese teenagers or young adults, so the most natural comparison is with Japan. The NCD Risk Factor Collaboration's 2016 study in eLife, which estimated adult height for people born between 1896 and 1996 in 200 countries, gives Japanese adults born in 1996 a mean of 170.8 cm for men and 158.3 cm for women. Those are the figures on the site's average height in Japan page.

Character Height vs Japanese average (same sex)
Satoru Gojo 190 cm or more at least +19.2 cm
Kento Nanami 184 cm +13.2 cm
Megumi Fushiguro 175 cm +4.2 cm
Yuji Itadori 173 cm +2.2 cm
Maki Zenin 170 cm +11.7 cm
Nobara Kugisaki 160 cm +1.7 cm
Momo Nishimiya 150 cm −8.3 cm

Yuji's "average height" description in the wiki is accurate by this measure, sitting about 2 cm above the national mean for men. Gojo and Nanami, on the other hand, would be very tall in any Japanese crowd. Among the women, Maki is the standout: at 170 cm she is almost 12 cm above the average for Japanese women, which is a bigger gap relative to her peers than Gojo's is to his.

The characters' ages also matter. Yuji is listed at 15 in the Fanbook and, per Akutami, still growing, while the 1996 cohort averages describe fully grown adults. A 15-year-old at 173 cm is already slightly above the adult average, so Yuji may end up taller than his listed figure.

To check how a particular gap looks, such as Gojo next to Nobara, use the height difference calculator, or put the characters side by side, along with yourself, in the 3D comparison tool.

Why approximate heights cause confusion

The "over" and "almost" wording is the main reason fan lists disagree about Jujutsu Kaisen heights. Some round Gojo up to an invented exact number; others list Yuta at 180 cm as though it were precise. Neither is supported by the profiles. Here is how this site handles it:

  1. The stored number is the round figure in the profile. Gojo, Todo and Panda are stored at 190 cm, Geto and Yuta at 180 cm, Inumaki at 170 cm.
  2. The qualifier stays in the text. The comparison tables above show the original wording so you can see when a value is a floor ("over") or a ceiling ("almost").
  3. No guessed decimals. If a future databook gives exact figures, they will replace the round numbers.

The series has continued beyond the main manga. Wikipedia notes that a short spin-off sequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, written by Akutami and drawn by Yūji Iwasaki, ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from September 2025 to March 2026. The wiki gives older ages for some characters in Modulo (Yuji at 83, for example), but the heights on this page all describe the main-series versions of the characters.

Frequently asked questions

Is Gojo exactly 190 cm tall?

Not exactly. His Volume 1 profile says he is probably over 190 cm. The site uses 190 cm as a floor value, so the real canon height could be a little higher.

Who is taller, Gojo or Todo?

Neither, officially. Both are listed as over 190 cm, and the Jujutsu Kaisen Wiki notes that Todo is about the same height as Gojo. Panda shares the same over-190 cm listing.

Will Yuji Itadori get taller?

According to his Volume 1 profile as summarized by the Jujutsu Kaisen Wiki, Gege Akutami said Yuji, listed at 173 cm, will continue growing. No later official height has been given.

Are Maki and Mai the same height?

Yes. The Volume 5 profile lists both twins at 170 cm (5 ft 7 in), and the Official Fanbook repeats the figure.

How much does Yuji weigh?

About 80 kg (176 lb) according to the Volume 1 profile, which also says his body fat is in the single digits. That is heavy for 173 cm and reflects how muscular he is.

How tall is Megumi compared with Yuji?

Megumi is 175 cm and Yuji is 173 cm, so Megumi is 2 cm taller. Nobara, at 160 cm, is 13 to 15 cm shorter than both of her teammates.

Who is the tallest Jujutsu Kaisen character?

Satoru Gojo, Aoi Todo and Panda are tied as the tallest Jujutsu Kaisen characters in our list at 190 cm (6′3″).

Who is the shortest Jujutsu Kaisen character?

Momo Nishimiya is the shortest at 150 cm (4′11″).

What is the average height of Jujutsu Kaisen characters?

The average of the 13 human-sized characters listed here is 175.5 cm (5′9″). For comparison, the average US man is 175.1 cm and the average US woman 161.2 cm (CDC).

Where do these Jujutsu Kaisen heights come from?

Every height is cited to the Jujutsu Kaisen Wiki. For all 13 entries, that page names the primary source (typically the Jujutsu Kaisen official fanbook and character profiles). Each character page links to the exact page used.
