Sasuke Uchiha's official height: 168 cm in Part II

Sasuke Uchiha is listed on this site at 168 cm (5′6″), his height in Part II of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto, the era covered by Naruto Shippuden. That is the figure in the third official databook, Sha no Sho, published in Japan on September 9, 2008 and in English on January 10, 2012, as compiled by Narutopedia. It describes the 16-to-17-year-old Sasuke who has left Konoha, trained under Orochimaru and set out after his brother.

Like Naruto, Sasuke has official heights for three stages of his life:

Period Age Height Weight Source
Part I (early) 12 150.8 cm (4′11″) 42.2 kg First databook
Part I (late) 13 153.2 cm (5′0″) 43.5 kg Second databook
Part II 16–17 168 cm (5′6″) 52.2 kg Third databook, Sha no Sho
Blank Period (adult) 19+ 182 cm (6′0″) Not listed Narutopedia

From the start of Part I to adulthood, Sasuke grows about 31 cm, slightly less than Naruto's 35 cm, because he started taller. The databooks list his blood type as AB.

Anime model sheets versus databooks

Narutopedia records a small but persistent difference between the anime and the books. Studio Pierrot's model sheets, the reference drawings animators work from, list Sasuke at a flat 150 cm at age 12, rather than the databook's 150.8 cm. The same sheets give heights for his childhood: 122.5 cm and 124.5 cm, and later 140 cm at about seven years old, around the time of the Uchiha clan's destruction. Those childhood figures are useful for animators but do not appear in any databook, so this site does not treat them as canon.

Part I: the tallest genin on Team 7

When the series starts, Sasuke is the tallest of the three genin on Team 7, though only by a few centimeters.

Team 7 (Part I) Height Difference vs Sasuke (150.8 cm)
Sasuke Uchiha 150.8–153.2 cm —
Sakura Haruno 148.5–150.1 cm about −2.3 cm
Naruto Uzumaki 145.3–147.5 cm about −5.5 cm
Kakashi Hatake 181 cm +30.2 cm

At 42.2 to 43.5 kg, he was also the heaviest of the three. That fits his role in Part I: the Academy's top graduate, praised as a genius, a little ahead of his teammates in every measurable way. Narutopedia notes that the Hyō no Sho guidebook gave him A grades in ninjutsu, taijutsu and genjutsu as an Academy student, alongside an F in cooperation.

Measured against real children, Part I Sasuke is a little small for his age but not dramatically so. Japan's Ministry of Education measured the average 12-year-old boy at 153.8 cm in its fiscal 2025 School Health Statistics Survey, about 3 cm more than Sasuke's 150.8 cm.

Part II: 168 cm, and still just ahead of Naruto

After the timeskip, Sasuke reappears at 168 cm and 52.2 kg, a gain of about 15 cm since his last Part I profile. His lead over Naruto shrinks from about 5.5 cm to 2 cm, but it does not disappear.

Part II comparison Height Difference vs Sasuke (168 cm)
Jūgo (Team Taka) 202.1 cm +34.1 cm
Kakashi Hatake 181 cm +13 cm
Itachi Uchiha 178 cm +10 cm
Suigetsu Hōzuki (Team Taka) 177.4 cm +9.4 cm
Orochimaru 172 cm +4 cm
Sasuke Uchiha 168 cm —
Naruto Uzumaki 166 cm −2 cm
Karin (Team Taka) 162.6 cm −5.4 cm
Sakura Haruno 161 cm −7 cm

One quirk of Part II is that Sasuke is the shortest man on his own team. Team Taka, the group he forms after leaving Orochimaru, includes Suigetsu at 177.4 cm and Jūgo at a towering 202.1 cm, and only Karin is shorter than him. He leads the group anyway, which says something about how the series measures power: Sasuke's authority never depended on size.

Sasuke is also 4 cm shorter than Orochimaru's Part II body, which the databook lists at 172 cm. Orochimaru intends to take over Sasuke's body, which makes their size gap a small detail in a very large plot point.

Sasuke and Itachi: chasing a taller brother

Sasuke's relationship with his older brother is the core of his story, and their heights tell part of it. Itachi is listed at 175.2 cm in Part I and 178 cm in Part II. When Sasuke finally confronts him in Part II, Sasuke is 168 cm, a full 10 cm shorter than the brother he has spent years trying to surpass.

Uchiha Height Difference vs Part II Sasuke (168 cm)
Sasuke (adult, Blank Period) 182 cm +14 cm
Itachi Uchiha (Part II) 178 cm +10 cm
Fugaku Uchiha (father) 175.3 cm +7.3 cm
Mikoto Uchiha (mother) 162.6 cm −5.4 cm
Sarada Uchiha (daughter, New Era) 147 cm −21 cm

Itachi stops growing at 178 cm; he dies at 21. Sasuke, at 182 cm as an adult, eventually stands 4 cm taller than Itachi ever did. He also ends up taller than both parents: 6.7 cm above his father Fugaku and nearly 20 cm above his mother Mikoto. In height, at least, the younger brother surpasses everyone in his family.

Adult Sasuke: 182 cm in the Blank Period

For his adult appearances in The Last: Naruto the Movie and Boruto, Narutopedia lists Sasuke at 182 cm. That is 14 cm more than his Part II figure and keeps him 2 cm ahead of adult Naruto, who is listed at 180 cm.

Adults Height Difference vs adult Sasuke (182 cm)
Sasuke Uchiha (Blank Period) 182 cm —
Kakashi Hatake 181 cm −1 cm
Naruto Uzumaki (Blank Period) 180 cm −2 cm
Sakura Haruno (Blank Period) 165 cm −17 cm

As adults, Sasuke edges past his old teacher Kakashi by a single centimeter. His wife, Sakura, listed at 165 cm in the Blank Period, is 17 cm shorter.

A bigger growth spurt than real teenagers

The jump between Sasuke's Part I and Part II profiles is larger than what real boys typically experience over the same ages. Comparing his figures with the averages from Japan's fiscal 2025 School Health Statistics Survey makes that clear.

Age Sasuke (databooks) Average Japanese boy (MEXT FY2025) Difference
12 150.8 cm 153.8 cm −3.0 cm
13 153.2 cm 161.1 cm −7.9 cm
16 168 cm 169.9 cm −1.9 cm
17 168 cm 170.6 cm −2.6 cm

Between 13 and 16, Sasuke gains 14.8 cm. The average Japanese boy gains 8.8 cm over the same span. In other words, Sasuke starts the series a little behind real children of his age, falls further behind at 13, and then catches up almost completely during the timeskip. That pattern, a late and strong growth spurt, is common in real adolescents, though the size of Sasuke's jump is on the generous side. His later climb to 182 cm as an adult would put him well above the average adult man.

Why this site uses 168 cm

Sasuke's three official heights describe three different stages of the character. This site uses the Part II figure because it comes from a databook with an English edition and covers the longest stretch of the story, from his time with Orochimaru through the Fourth Shinobi World War. The Part I figures describe a child, and the 182 cm adult figure describes the older Sasuke of The Last and Boruto. If you want to compare that adult version, enter 182 cm in the tool and label it clearly.

Reading Sasuke's numbers carefully

A few cautions apply when you compare Sasuke with other characters:

  • Part I has two numbers. The first and second databooks were published three years apart and list 150.8 cm and 153.2 cm. Both are correct for their moment in the story.
  • The anime rounds. Studio Pierrot's model sheets use 150 cm for him at 12, which is why some anime-based charts differ from the books by under a centimeter.
  • The adult figure is less firmly sourced. Narutopedia lists 182 cm for his Blank Period appearance, but it is not one of the original databook profiles from Part I or Part II, so treat it with a little more caution.
  • Hair is not height. Profiles measure to the head, not to the tips of his spiked hair.

How Sasuke's size fits his design

Kishimoto has said Sasuke was his most difficult character to design and draw. According to Wikipedia's account of the character's creation, Kishimoto felt Sasuke seemed older than Naruto despite being the same age, and found it hard to draw a character so mature beyond his years. That impression of age carries into the numbers: in Part I, Sasuke is taller and heavier than Naruto, and he looks the part of the precocious elite.

His hairstyle is another reason he can look taller than he is. Wikipedia notes his hair was originally short to save drawing time and grew longer over the series. The swept-back spikes at the back of his head, a signature of his Part I look, add visual height in profile shots. If you compare him to Naruto in panels, his hair can make the 2 cm gap in Part II look larger.

The rivalry is also visible in the numbers. At every stage with official heights, Sasuke is a little taller than Naruto: about 5.5 cm at 12, 2 cm in Part II, 2 cm as adults. The gap narrows as their relationship moves from bitter rivalry toward mutual respect, but Sasuke always keeps a slight edge.

Sasuke's heights in real-world terms

Converted, 168 cm is 66.1 inches, just over 5′6″; the 168 cm page shows the full conversion and real people at that mark. His adult height, 182 cm, is just under 6′0″.

The NCD Risk Factor Collaboration estimates the average adult Japanese man born in 1996 at 170.8 cm. Part II Sasuke, still a teenager, is about 3 cm below that, while adult Sasuke is about 11 cm above it. You can see the long-term trend on the average height in Japan page.
