Yor Forger, the city hall clerk who secretly works as the assassin known as the Thorn Princess, is 170 cm (5′7″) tall. The figure comes from her profile on page 43 of the Spy x Family Official Fanbook: Eyes Only, Tatsuya Endo's official companion book. It was published in Japan on May 2, 2022, and released in English by Viz Media on October 3, 2023. The Spy x Family Wiki cites the Fanbook for her height, and this site uses the same number.

The manga describes Yor as a tall, graceful woman in her late twenties, and the Fanbook's figure confirms it. She is above average height for a woman in almost any country, and in heels, which she often wears even in combat, she looks taller still.

Strength out of proportion to her size

Yor's Fanbook profile contains one of the most memorable entries in the book. Her grip strength can't be measured, because she keeps crushing the devices used to test it. The same profile uses her as the benchmark for the cast's fighting ability. Yor is a 10 in pure physical combat, and Loid, Fiona and Yuri are each rated in comparison with her. Loid comes in at around 6 or 7.

That makes Yor a good example of a character whose power has nothing to do with her size. She isn't small. At 170 cm she is taller than most women, but she's 17 cm shorter than Loid and 9 cm shorter than her younger brother, Yuri, and still outclasses both physically. The manga shows her slicing through a cutting board by accident, shredding a tennis ball mid-swing and serving hard enough that Fiona Frost's racket snaps when she returns it.

Endo built that contrast into the character from the start. His development notes, reproduced in the Fanbook and summarized on the wiki, call her "The Strongest Assassin" and describe her as more powerful than the hero. He has said Yor came from his love of fighting heroines, especially Princess Alena of the Dragon Quest series, a royal who prefers fighting to court life. Her signature stilettos were inspired by the weapon of the assassin in Ken Follett's spy novel Eye of the Needle. And her day job was originally going to be janitor before Endo moved her to city hall.

Yor versus Loid, Anya and the rest of the cast

Several of these pairings matter to the story.

• Yor and Loid. A 17 cm gap is a common one for couples. Yor's eyes reach about the level of Loid's mouth or chin, depending on her shoes, and the two look like a conventionally matched pair, which is exactly the impression their fake marriage is meant to create.
• Yor and Fiona. Fiona Frost, Loid's colleague who wants to replace Yor as his wife, is 2 cm taller. The rivalry plays out in scenes like their tennis match, where height is irrelevant and Yor's strength decides everything.
• Yor and Yuri. Yuri, the secret police officer and devoted younger brother, stands 9 cm above her. Yor is the older, protective sibling who looked out for him when they were young, even though she's now the shorter of the two.
• Yor and Anya. Yor is about 1.7 times Anya's height, and Anya's head comes up to roughly Yor's waist.

Fighting in heels

Yor often fights in her Thorn Princess dress and heels, and the wiki notes that she moves at high speed, changes direction and performs acrobatics in them. Heels typically add several centimeters to a woman's standing height, so in her assassin outfit Yor likely looks closer to 175 cm than to her barefoot 170. That's the height people usually picture when they think of her on screen.

The Fanbook figure, like most official heights, should be read as her height without shoes. When fans compare screenshots of Yor in heels with Loid in dress shoes and conclude the gap is smaller than 17 cm, they're usually seeing footwear, not an error in the book.

What 170 cm means for a real woman

In real-world terms, Yor is tall. In the CDC's National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey for 2021–2023, the 90th percentile for US women aged 20 and over is 170.4 cm. At 170 cm, Yor is taller than nearly 90% of American adult women. Among women aged 20 to 29, closer to her age, she's around the 82nd percentile.

Spy x Family takes place in the fictional countries of Westalis and Ostania. Wikipedia notes that many commentators see them as modeled on West and East Germany, though Endo hasn't confirmed this. The NCD-RisC estimates on this site put the average German woman born in 1996 at 165.9 cm (see average height in Germany), so Yor would stand about 4 cm above the German average. In Japan, where the manga is written and most of its readers live, the average woman of the same cohort is 158.3 cm (see average height in Japan), and Yor is nearly 12 cm taller.

Among real people in the site's data, singer Beyoncé is listed at 170.2 cm (see her height page), essentially Yor's height. The 170 cm conversion page lists more people at that height. 170 cm converts to 5 feet 6.9 inches, which rounds to 5′7″.

Loid and Yor as a couple: how typical is a 17 cm gap?

Operation Strix needs the Forgers to look like an ordinary family, and their heights help. The 17 cm gap between Loid and Yor is a little larger than the average difference between men and women, but not by much. Using the averages on this site:

Both Forgers are tall for their sexes, and the gap between them is about 3 cm wider than the national averages. In a crowd in any of these countries, they would read as a tall but unremarkable couple, which is exactly what a spy and an assassin hiding in plain sight would want.

The difference also gives the series a visual shorthand. When Yor stands beside Loid in flats, he is clearly the taller partner, which fits his role as the planner of the household. In heels, the gap shrinks to about a dozen centimeters, and in her assassin scenes Yor often seems to fill the frame more than he does. Her strength, not her height, is what the story keeps returning to.

Yor and Yuri: a tall pair of siblings

The Briar siblings are both tall. Yuri, at 179 cm, is about 8 cm above the average Japanese man of the 1996 cohort and close to the German average of 179.9 cm. Yor, at 170 cm, is above average for women in both countries by a wider margin. The 9 cm between them is smaller than the typical 12 to 14 cm gap between men and women in the populations above, so in relative terms Yor is the taller of the two for her sex.

The series doesn't tie their heights to their family history, and we won't read anything into it. The relationship it emphasizes runs the other way. Yuri, a secret police officer who is taller, younger and trained to fight, is still the one who defers to his sister, and he's no match for her physically. The Fanbook rates his combat ability against hers on the same scale as Loid's, with Yor as the benchmark.

Yor among other anime women at 170 cm

170 cm is a popular official height for adult women in manga. Several of the most famous share it with Yor exactly:

Maki Zen'in is the closest match in character, a woman whose physical strength outclasses almost everyone around her. Makima, another composed woman with a dangerous secret, is 2 cm shorter than Yor.

Yor's height in the anime and film

Wit Studio and CloverWorks' anime, which began in April 2022 and has run for three seasons through late 2025, draws Yor in line with the Fanbook's proportions. In wide shots of the family, she is noticeably shorter than Loid and towers over Anya. Spy x Family Code: White, released in Japan in December 2023 with character designs supervised by Endo, keeps the same proportions.

Because her height comes from the Fanbook rather than from the manga or anime, older fan sites written before 2022 sometimes list no height at all, or give estimates from screenshots in the 165 to 175 cm range. Since the Fanbook's release, 170 cm has been the established figure.

The Fanbook profile: other facts about Yor

Beyond her height, the Fanbook profile summarized on the wiki adds details that round out the character:

• Her only dish she can reliably cook is her late mother's southern stew, and she hasn't learned to make anything else since.
• Her success rate as an assassin is 100%, because her employer, the Garden, only gives her jobs it's sure she can finish.
• She's good at stabbing and terrible at poisoning, and while she doesn't know how to use a gun or a bow, she might be able to throw them effectively.
• At city hall she's considered an average-to-poor employee.

None of these involve height, but they show the comic gap at the center of the character. An ordinary-looking woman of above-average height is, in secret, the most dangerous fighter in the series.
