Drake's height: the six-foot figure
Drake is 182.9 cm, or exactly 6′0″, the figure the site carries from music-industry profiles including Billboard's. Like most musicians, he has never been measured in a public setting, and his height is a listed figure rather than a recorded one. What makes the number credible is that it holds up against the many photographs of him beside athletes whose heights are officially measured. As the Toronto Raptors' global ambassador and a fixture in NBA arenas, Drake spends an unusual amount of time standing next to men whose heights appear on league rosters, and those images are consistent with a man of about six feet.
The figure is also notably round. 182.9 cm is simply 72 inches converted to metric, which tells you the original source was an imperial "6 feet" rather than a metric measurement. That is common for American and Canadian entertainers, whose listings are almost always given in feet and inches and then converted. A precise metric figure like 182.9 implies more accuracy than the underlying "six feet" really carries; a fair reading is that Drake is somewhere around 181 to 184 cm.

From Degrassi to the top of the charts
Aubrey Drake Graham was born on October 24, 1986, in Toronto. His father, Dennis Graham, is an African-American drummer from Memphis, Tennessee, and his mother, Sandra "Sandi" Graham, is a Canadian former English teacher and florist. He grew up mostly in Toronto with his mother after his parents separated, spending summers with his father in Memphis.
His first fame came as an actor. From 2001 to 2008 he played Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation, a basketball star whose life changes after he is shot and uses a wheelchair. The role is a footnote in discussions of his height but a telling one: Jimmy was written as a talented high school athlete, and the teenage Graham was cast partly because he could plausibly play one.
Music took over in the late 2000s. The mixtape So Far Gone (2009) led to a deal with Lil Wayne's Young Money and the album Thank Me Later (2010), followed by a run that made him one of the best-selling artists of the streaming era:
| Year | Album | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 2011 | Take Care | Grammy, Best Rap Album |
| 2013 | Nothing Was the Same | |
| 2015 | If You're Reading This It's Too Late | Surprise release |
| 2016 | Views | Includes "One Dance" and "Hotline Bling" |
| 2018 | Scorpion | Double album; "God's Plan," "Nice for What" |
| 2021 | Certified Lover Boy | |
| 2022 | Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss (with 21 Savage) | |
| 2023 | For All the Dogs | |
| 2025 | Some Sexy Songs 4 U (with PartyNextDoor) | |
| 2026 | Iceman |
His Billboard records include 14 Hot 100 number-one singles, 15 number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and the most top-ten entries on the Hot 100 of any artist. He has won five Grammy Awards.
Courtside at six feet: Drake and the Raptors
Drake became the Toronto Raptors' global ambassador in 2013, joining the team's executive committee and lending his OVO brand to the club's training facility, the OVO Athletic Centre. Since then he has been one of the most visible fans in professional sports, sitting courtside at Scotiabank Arena, famously giving head coach Nick Nurse an impromptu shoulder rub during the 2019 playoffs and trading words with opponents during playoff runs.
That visibility makes Drake a convenient yardstick. NBA players are measured at the draft combine and the league now requires certified measurements for roster listings, so photographs of Drake with them are the best available check on his own height. The table uses the site's data for Raptors-era players and others he is often pictured with.
| Player | Height | Difference from Drake |
|---|---|---|
| Joel Embiid | 213 cm (7′0″) | +30 cm |
| Giannis Antetokounmpo | 211 cm (6′11″) | +28 cm |
| Pascal Siakam | 208 cm (6′10″) | +25 cm |
| LeBron James | 206 cm (6′9″) | +23 cm |
| Kawhi Leonard | 201 cm (6′7″) | +18 cm |
| DeMar DeRozan | 201 cm (6′7″) | +18 cm |
| Vince Carter | 198 cm (6′6″) | +15 cm |
| Kyle Lowry | 183 cm (6′0″) | 0 cm |
The Kyle Lowry row is the most useful. Lowry, the point guard at the heart of the 2019 championship team, is listed at 183 cm, and photos of the two side by side show them at essentially the same height, which supports Drake's six-foot listing. Next to forwards such as Siakam or Leonard, Drake's head typically reaches about their chins.
The 2019 playoff run
The Raptors' 2019 title run produced the most famous images of Drake as a fan. During the Eastern Conference playoffs against Philadelphia, the cameras repeatedly caught him reacting near Joel Embiid, who stands 30 cm taller. When Kawhi Leonard's four-bounce buzzer-beater won Game 7 of that series, Drake was courtside, and the Raptors went on to beat the Golden State Warriors for the franchise's first championship. He has remained one of the team's best-known faces since, even as the roster has turned over.
The Kendrick Lamar feud and the height jabs
Height became part of a much larger story in spring 2024. The long-simmering rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar broke into open conflict on March 22, 2024, when Lamar's verse on Future and Metro Boomin's "Like That" took aim at Drake and J. Cole. Drake responded with "Push Ups," which leaked on April 13 and was officially released on April 19.
Billboard noted that the track's cover art used a shoe-sizing tag, a joke about Lamar's small feet, and that the song made fun of his smaller frame. On the site's data, the difference is large: Lamar is 165.1 cm (5′5″) and Drake is 182.9 cm, a gap of nearly 18 cm, or about seven inches. Rolling Stone India's coverage of the leak pointed to further jabs about Lamar's stature in the song.
Physical teasing has a long history in battle rap, and short stature has been a target before. In this case, it became one thread in an exchange that escalated quickly and moved far beyond appearance. Lamar's response tracks, culminating in "Not Like Us" on May 4, 2024, dominated the summer. That song won all five Grammys it was nominated for in February 2025, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and Lamar performed it at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show a week later. Drake filed a defamation suit against Universal Music Group over the song in January 2025; a federal judge dismissed it in October 2025, and Drake appealed. Lamar's height, it is fair to say, did not decide the outcome.
Drake beside other musicians
In music, where performers' heights matter far less than in sport, Drake is tall compared with many of his collaborators. The site's data gives these comparisons:
| Artist | Height | Difference from Drake |
|---|---|---|
| Rihanna | 173 cm (5′8″) | −10 cm |
| Justin Bieber | 175.3 cm (5′9″) | −7.6 cm |
| Kanye West | 172.7 cm (5′8″) | −10 cm |
| DaBaby | 172.7 cm (5′8″) | −10 cm |
| Kendrick Lamar | 165.1 cm (5′5″) | −17.8 cm |
| Nicki Minaj | 160 cm (5′3″) | −22.9 cm |
| Tory Lanez | 160 cm (5′3″) | −22.9 cm |
Rihanna, his collaborator on "What's My Name?," "Take Care," "Work" and "Too Good," is about 10 cm shorter, though she usually performs in heels that close most of the gap. Nicki Minaj, his Young Money labelmate for more than a decade, is about 23 cm shorter, which is evident in their many joint stage appearances. Fellow Toronto artist Tory Lanez is likewise about 23 cm shorter in the site's data.

Six feet among today's rap stars
Hip-hop has no physical template. Its biggest stars range from compact performers to some of the tallest entertainers in popular music, and the site's data shows how Drake sits near the middle of the spread for current headliners.
| Rapper | Height | Difference from Drake |
|---|---|---|
| Yung Gravy | 201.9 cm (6′7½″) | +19 cm |
| Post Malone | 184 cm (6′0½″) | +1 cm |
| Megan Thee Stallion | 177.8 cm (5′10″) | −5 cm |
| Cardi B | 160 cm (5′3″) | −23 cm |
| Doja Cat | 160 cm (5′3″) | −23 cm |
Yung Gravy, at just over two meters, is one of the tallest artists in the database, and Post Malone is essentially the same height as Drake. Megan Thee Stallion, at 5′10″, is one of the tallest women in hip-hop and only about 5 cm shorter than Drake, so in her usual stage heels she would stand taller than him.
What the table shows is that height has never been a requirement for success in the genre. Drake's six feet is an asset in photos and videos, and it gave him a ready-made joke in a feud, but his career rests on songwriting, melody and an unusual instinct for what will dominate streaming playlists. The same is true of the much shorter Kendrick Lamar, whose 2025 Grammy sweep came at the end of the very exchange in which his stature was mocked. Among rap's most decorated artists, the height range runs well beyond 30 centimeters.
Compared with the average Canadian man
The site's average height data for Canada uses the NCD Risk Factor Collaboration's estimates, which pool measured national surveys including Statistics Canada's Canadian Health Measures Survey. For Canadian men, NCD-RisC gives:
| Canadian male birth cohort | Average height |
|---|---|
| 1896 | 170.7 cm (5′7¼″) |
| 1926 | 173.1 cm (5′8¼″) |
| 1956 | 175.5 cm (5′9″) |
| 1976 | 177.1 cm (5′9¾″) |
| 1996 | 178.1 cm (5′10″) |
For men born in the mid-1980s, like Drake, the average falls between the 1976 and 1996 figures at roughly 177.5 cm. Drake's 182.9 cm is about 5 cm above that, which places him around the 75th percentile, roughly one in four Canadian men of his generation are taller.
Canada's height history differs from Europe's. Canadian men were already relatively tall a century ago, at more than 170 cm on average, so the gain over the twentieth century, about 7 cm, was modest next to countries such as Portugal or Spain. Canadian men today are, on average, very slightly taller than American men of the same generation; the United States figure for the 1996 cohort is 177.1 cm.
Against the world, six feet is clearly tall. The global average for adult men is roughly 171 cm, so Drake is about 12 cm above the worldwide norm. For a precise percentile in any country, use the height percentile calculator.
How six feet reads on stage and in videos
For a rapper, height mostly matters in staging and video. Drake's stage shows are built around large, open sets, with arena-scale lighting rigs and props on his major tours, where an individual performer's height is dwarfed by the production anyway. In music videos, his six-foot frame allows directors to shoot him at eye level with most collaborators, and the contrast with shorter artists is often visible without any staging.
Fashion plays a role too. Drake has long favored oversized outerwear, layered tracksuits and chunky sneakers. Thick-soled shoes can add 3 to 5 cm, which is one reason event photos sometimes make him look taller than six feet. When comparing photos, always check footwear before drawing conclusions.
Summary
Drake is listed at 6′0″ (182.9 cm), a figure that matches photographs of him beside NBA players such as Kyle Lowry, who is the same listed height. He is about 5 cm taller than the average Canadian man of his generation and about 12 cm above the global average. His height entered public conversation most memorably through his own 2024 jabs at Kendrick Lamar's smaller frame, a feud whose outcome had nothing to do with stature.
