Where My Hero Academia heights come from
Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from July 2014 to August 2024 and was collected in 42 volumes, according to Wikipedia. Studio Bones adapted it as an anime that aired over eight seasons, from April 2016 to December 2025. Most official heights in the series come from a single, consistent place: the character profiles Horikoshi included as bonus pages, or omake, in the collected volumes.
The My Hero Academia Wiki cites those profiles volume by volume. Volume 1 introduced All Might, Bakugo, Aizawa, Ida and Uraraka; volume 2 added Shoto Todoroki, Momo Yaoyorozu, Tsuyu Asui and Minoru Mineta; volume 3 covered more of Class 1-A; and later volumes added pro heroes and villains as they became important, such as Endeavor in volume 5, Mirio in volume 14, Hawks in volume 20, Shigaraki in volume 23, Toga in volume 24 and Dabi in volume 25.
Two other sources fill gaps:
- Databooks. Ultra Analysis: The Official Character Guide, the series' second databook, came out in Japan on October 4, 2019 (292 pages) and in English on November 2, 2021. The wiki describes it as covering chapters 1 to 235. Izuku Midoriya's 166 cm figure is cited to an official databook rather than a volume page.
- Magazine features. Two villains, All For One and Stain, take their heights from a "Hawks Villain Report" in Jump GIGA, Spring 2022.
My Hero Academia heights at a glance

| Tsuyu Asui | 150 cm (4′11″) | Class 1-A | Volume 2 profile |
| Minoru Mineta | 108 cm (3′7″) | Class 1-A | Volume 2 profile |
The list falls into three bands. Two giants, All For One and All Might, are above 2 meters. A group of adult heroes and villains sits between 172 and 195 cm. And Class 1-A spans an unusually wide range for a single school class, from Ida at 179 cm down to Mineta at 108 cm.
All Might and All For One: the two giants
All Might is listed at 220 cm (7′3″) in the volume 1 profile. The wiki describes his empowered form as a towering, heavily muscled figure styled after a classic Western comic-book hero. It also notes that his mastery of his Quirk let him transform himself into this towering, powerfully built man, which helped hide his identity.
His weight figures show how unusual that body is. The wiki lists 274 kg (604 lb) before his injury and 255 kg (562 lb) in his muscle form. No separate height or weight is given for his true form, which the wiki describes as very skinny, with long limbs and an extended neck, after the permanent damage All For One inflicted on him.
All For One, his nemesis, is the tallest character in the site's list at 225 cm (7′5″), a figure that comes from the Jump GIGA "Hawks Villain Report." The wiki describes him in the past as a towering man with a powerfully muscular build. That makes the two great rivals of the series only 5 cm apart.
| Matchup | Heights | Difference |
|---|---|---|
| All For One vs All Might | 225 cm vs 220 cm | 5 cm |
| All Might vs Izuku | 220 cm vs 166 cm | 54 cm |
| All Might vs Endeavor | 220 cm vs 195 cm | 25 cm |
The All Might–Izuku gap, 54 cm, means All Might is about 33% taller than his successor; Izuku's eyes would sit roughly at the level of All Might's chest.
The Todoroki family: Endeavor, Shoto and Dabi
Endeavor is 195 cm (6′5″) and 118 kg in his volume 5 profile, making him the tallest human-sized hero in the list after All Might. The wiki describes him as a tall, sturdily built man with a very muscular physique, and adds that even as a child he was already tall enough to reach the height of the adults around him.
Both of his sons in the list are 176 cm. Shoto Todoroki, from the volume 2 profile, is described as moderately tall and well-built for his age because of his intense childhood training. Dabi, whose figure appears in volume 25, is described as a reasonably tall, slim but somewhat muscular young man.
Dabi's entry includes an unusual detail about growth. The wiki explains that, because he was born prematurely, he was shorter than his younger siblings Fuyumi and Natsuo as a child, and only reached about their height after a growth spurt. After a three-year coma, he had grown taller still. The result is that the two brothers end up exactly the same height, 19 cm below their father.
Class 1-A: from Ida to Mineta
Izuku Midoriya's class is the heart of the series, and its official heights cover a span of 71 cm.
- Tenya Ida is the tallest student at 179 cm. The wiki calls him tall and muscular with a wide frame.
- Shoto Todoroki follows at 176 cm.
- Momo Yaoyorozu, at 173 cm, is the tallest girl in the class and taller than Bakugo, Kirishima and Izuku.
- Katsuki Bakugo is 172 cm. The wiki describes him as above average in height with a slim, muscular build.
- Eijiro Kirishima is 170 cm and Denki Kaminari 168 cm. The wiki calls Kirishima a muscular young man of average height.
- Izuku Midoriya is 166 cm, 6 cm shorter than his childhood rival.
- Fumikage Tokoyami is 158 cm, Ochaco Uraraka 156 cm, Kyoka Jiro 154 cm and Tsuyu Asui 150 cm.
- Minoru Mineta is 108 cm. The wiki's trivia notes that, excluding children and anime-original characters, he is the shortest human character in the main series. His preliminary design, it adds, had him slightly taller.
All of these figures describe the students as first-years, aged 15 in their profiles. The final chapters jump forward eight years after the Final War, and the wiki describes nearly every one of them as having grown: Izuku, Bakugo, Shoto, Ida, Kirishima, Tokoyami, Uraraka, Jiro and Tsuyu are all "taller," and even Mineta has "grown a bit taller" while remaining short next to his classmates. No new numbers accompany those descriptions, so the student-era heights remain the official ones.
Pro heroes and villains in the middle band
Outside the giants and the students, the adult cast clusters tightly between 172 and 183 cm.
| Character | Height | Age in profile | Wiki description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shota Aizawa | 183 cm | 30 | Slender and tall |
| Stain | 182 cm | 31 | — |
| Mirio Togata | 181 cm | 18 | Tall, very muscular |
| Tomura Shigaraki | 175 cm | 20 | — |
| Hawks | 172 cm | 22 | Average height, slim and narrow build |
| Himiko Toga | 157 cm | 16 | — |
Aizawa, a teacher at U.A., is the tallest of this group, 1 cm above the villain Stain. Mirio, listed at 18, is the tallest student in the list at 181 cm, 2 cm above Ida. The pro hero Hawks is described by the wiki as of average height, and at 172 cm he is exactly level with Bakugo.
Shigaraki is 175 cm in his volume 23 profile, 1 cm shorter than Shoto and Dabi and 50 cm shorter than All For One.
How My Hero Academia heights compare with real people
The cast is Japanese, so Japanese averages are the natural benchmark. The NCD Risk Factor Collaboration's 2016 study in eLife, which estimated adult heights for people born from 1896 to 1996 in 200 countries, gives Japanese men born in 1996 a mean of 170.8 cm and women 158.3 cm, the figures on the site's average height in Japan page.
| Character | Height | vs Japanese average (same sex) |
|---|---|---|
| Endeavor | 195 cm | +24.2 cm |
| Shoto Todoroki | 176 cm | +5.2 cm |
| Katsuki Bakugo | 172 cm | +1.2 cm |
| Izuku Midoriya | 166 cm | −4.8 cm |
| Momo Yaoyorozu | 173 cm | +14.7 cm |
| Ochaco Uraraka | 156 cm | −2.3 cm |
| Tsuyu Asui | 150 cm | −8.3 cm |
Bakugo's "above average" description holds up by about a centimeter, and Izuku is a few centimeters short of the adult male mean. Because the students' heights were recorded at 15, and the wiki confirms they all grew afterward, their adult heights are likely higher than the table suggests.
Class 1-A by the numbers
Averaging the Class 1-A students in the site's list gives a neat result. The seven boys other than Mineta (Ida, Shoto, Bakugo, Kirishima, Kaminari, Izuku and Tokoyami) average 169.9 cm, within a centimeter of the Japanese adult male mean. Including Mineta pulls the boys' average down to 162.1 cm. The four girls (Momo, Uraraka, Jiro and Tsuyu) average 158.3 cm, exactly the NCD-RisC figure for Japanese women born in 1996. Horikoshi's class, in other words, looks like a realistic Japanese group with a couple of outliers at each end, recorded a few years before its members finished growing.
Momo stands out. At 173 cm she is almost 15 cm above the average Japanese woman, a bigger relative gap than Shoto's. Endeavor, at 195 cm, would be exceptionally tall in Japan.
Using these heights
A few practical notes:
- One height per character. All Might gets a single 220 cm figure for his hero form; there is no official height for his true form.
- Students were measured young. Profiles list most of Class 1-A at 15, before the series' eight-year jump.
- Sources vary in date. Volume omake, databooks and the 2022 Jump GIGA feature were published years apart, but the wiki records no conflicting figures for the characters here.
To see any of these gaps at scale, such as All Might next to Izuku, put the characters side by side, along with yourself, in the 3D height comparison tool, or measure the difference with the height difference calculator.
